Good evening, this is Julie Andrews.* As the celebrity benefactor of the Downtown Repalone Historical Society, it's my pleasure to welcome you and your family to this enchanting establishment where cocktails and collections transport you into the illusion of reality.
It was not always such a conservative family friendly attraction, ohhh no. Once apon a time, there was an amazing palatial domicile towering three stories. "Pendleton", as it was know, sat apon 15 glorious acres. The mistress of the estate, Lady Hampshire, was heir to the Hampshire Sour Cream fortune.
A decendant of English Royalty, the taudry Lady Hampshire oversaw illegal gambling in the east wing of the 2nd floor.
On the west wing of the 1st floor, Politicians and visiting royalty were served the finest irish whiskeys & cuban cigars while lovely ladies practicing their avocation waited paitently in the mezzanine. Allthewhile, kitchen staff hurried about concocting fabulous sour cream confections in the basement.
Tragically, the Northridge EarthQuake of 1994 caused the original structure to collapse. The first two stories are now subterannian and inaccessable to the general public. Today, all that remains are the living quarters which were originally a small part of the 3rd floor terrace, a mere shadow of its former glory.
The covered wagon, located on the grounds, is the genuine article that brought Lady Hampshire and her family to settle here. Years later this wagon became the instrument of her tragic, and untimely demise. Some say at night you can hear the sound of phantom horse hooves and carriage wheels pulling up to the front door.
Today, a lifesize replica of Lady Hampshire greets you as she once greeted all her guests.
Now, you may still be wondering how it is that an amazing man, by the name of John Repalone, came to acquiring this long neglected property.
Let me explain. John had a dream. A dream to buy a whimsical magical house filled with wonder. He looked high and low, far and wide to no avail. When he was nearly ready to give up, John accidentely came apon the Pendleton property, the abandoned old estate marred by years of neglect.
With his fiance Rose by his side they entered the dark, boarded up, long forgotton south wing, And it was there, overcome and possessed by the spirt of Lady Hampshire. Rose murmurred the word "Party".Bewildered, John turned on his flashlight, and discovered the shimmering indoor-outdoor green carpeting that lay under their feet. And in that moment, instantly John proclaimed it as "The Green Room".
For the next 9 years, the green room served as a gathering place for many social events including wedding showers, retirement parties, and of course the wonderful and magical holiday party. Soon people far and wide were attending this magical holiday event.
Unfortunately, the original makeshift bar was woefully underwelming. Soon, long lines of thirsty guests crowded in. Glasses couldn't be rinsed because you couldn't get to the kitchen; electric outlets shorted out, and there weren't enough drinking fountains.
Frustrated, John looked to the heavens, and exclaimed, "All I want is a sink".
At that point, John was ready to wish apon a star and unlock its magic.
Do fantasies come true? Take a look around! The dream of Downtown Repalone was born. A place where anything is possible; where every dreamer may wish apon a star.
Remember, Dreams Come True!
